PARTY SAFE

Party “Safe” is a term that you might have heard of before? We have used the term to describe a project that we’re doing in the North East to educate young people with the following two principles…
1…It is possible to have fun without alcohol or illegal substances.
2…If you do choose to partake in the use of alcohol or illegal substances we want you to know how you can look after yourself and your friends.

To educate young people and the community about these principles a team was formed at the beginning of 2007. In 2008 the team is made up of 21 young people and 1 elder from Scottsdale High School and the youth worker from the Council. We had a Party Safe training at the beginning of the school year and since then have been running events and activities for young people and the community including a mocktail party and a tobacco free movie night. All the events and activities we run incoporate our two principles.

One if the things we promote is REGISTERING YOUR PARTY WITH THE POLICE.

Here's some pic's from the CARNIVAL we had in 2008 and here's some info about one of our past PARTIES and the community FORUMS we held.
